History of Valley Baptist Church
Valley Baptist Church was started in March of 2003, with Pastor Denny Smith coming in October of that year. Services were held in homes, the fire station, and then at the Washington Township Elementary School in Valparaiso. In 2006, the church purchased ten acres on Rigg Road in Valparaiso with the vision of a church complex being built. In June of 2009, the church voted for Gift and Schneider Builders to erect an 11,327 sq. ft. building. This includes an auditorium that seats 300 comfortably, classrooms, offices, a fellowship hall, and warming kitchen.Because of the sacrificial giving of God’s people both within and outside of the church, over fifty percent of the monies needed were raised, allowing a minimal debt to be incurred. After breaking ground in March of 2010, we had our first service in the new building on Rigg Road Sunday, December 12, 2010.
Valley Baptist Church is a Christ-centered ministry which strives to minister to the entire family. The church has grown to over 200 members with a high of 344 in attendance.
