DAY 38, COLOSSIANS 2-4

Good Morning! My name is Jennifer Ritter  and I was asked to give you a devotional thought from the book of Colossians chapters  2-4.

KEY VERSE:  Colossians 2:8-10  Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not  after Christ.  For in Him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.  And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power.

REFLECTIONS:  Paul wrote to encourage the church in Colosse and to warn them so as not to be deceived by false teachings and worldly principles.  He wanted them to know that all they needed was Christ Jesus and Him alone. Furthermore, he gave them guidelines as to how to live a Christian life.

APPLICATION:  This is so relevant to our Christian living today. We have Christ living in us and He is the “gold standard” for all that we say and do. We are complete in Christ.  We do not have to look to the stars, fortune tellers or Hollywood to know how we should live. The media bombards us daily with wrong thinking and we must guard against it.  Colossians 3:15 tells us to let the peace of God rule in our hearts.  When we fill our heart with The Word and let God reign in our hearts He gives us a peace that comes from knowing we are secure in Him.

Thank you for being a part of the 40-Day Challenge.  Thanks for reading, and you have a blessed day!
In Christ,  Jennifer
