Day 59, II and III John, Jude

Day 59, II and III John, Jude

Good Morning! My name is Dave Wilgus and I was asked to give you a devotional thought from the book of II and III John, and Jude.

Key Verses:

II John 8 – Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, [worked for], but that we receive a full reward.

III John 4 – I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

Jude 21 – Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life [looking for that blessed hope].

Reflections:

Each of these epistles; II John, III John; and Jude, have several thoughts in common; they warn of false teachers who have crept into the fellowship of the body of believers, such as Demetrius in III John.  Then in each epistle the writer encourages us to love one another and prays that the readers admonish each other, as in III John the brethren exhorted Gaius.

Application:

It is no accident with God that any church body should increase in numerical or spiritual growth each year, when those in leadership love the Lord and do not become complacent to the duty to not lose the vision for the vast harvest of lost souls before us.  Therefore our spiritual growth will continue to thrive for the cause of Christ.

In Christ, Dave
