DAY 86, LUKE 10-11

Good Morning!  My name is Jim Appel and I was asked to give you a devotional thought from Luke 10-11.

Key Verse:  Luke 11:34  The Lamp of the body is the eye.

Read Key Passage:  Luke 11:33-36, Matthew 6:22-23

Reflection:

Have you ever taken time to look into someone’s eyes?  If you haven’t you need to.  There are a lot of things you can find out about person.  Since the LIGHT we have in us is the light of Jesus, it should be bright.  When we look into the eyes of a person we can see levels of brightness.  When we turn on a light in our homes we place it in a location to give light to an entire room or area.  We don’t turn on a light with the purpose of placing it in a location like a closet where we are not enjoying its benefits. We need to make our lives BRIGHT.  The way to make your life bright in Jesus is spend time reading and meditating on the bible.  We need to pray all the time about everything and also listen and obey God’s will for our lives.   I have a little phrase I like to use, and I guess it could be my motto: “You do your best and let God do the rest!”  We must HUMBLE ourselves at the feet of Jesus!  We need to give up all areas of our lives to Jesus and live for Him!  Our desire is to get rid of all the dark areas in our lives and replace them with the LIGHT that only Jesus can supply.

When we read the Bible we should always apply the lessons that we learn, to our lives. Applying scripture is how God’s Word begins to change us!!

Application:
We need to HUMBLE ourselves at the feet of Jesus! (James 4:10)  We need to give up time doing other things that don’t have any value in life (Matt 6:33).  We need to have a quiet time to study and meditate on the Bible.  We need to pray about all things (Matt. 6:6-7).

Review Questions:

1.  How bright is your light?
2.  What do you need to do to adjust your brightness level?
3.  Who is in control of your life?
Thank you for being a part of the 100-Day Challenge.  Thanks for reading, and you have a blessed day!
