DAY 80, Mark 4-6

Good Morning! Our names are Andrea and Victoria Merkel and we were asked to bring a devotional thought from Mark 1-3.

KEY VERSES:  Mark 4:3-8

3 Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:

4 And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.

5 And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth:

6 But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.

7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.

8 And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.

REFLECTIONS:

I want all of the children of Valley Baptist Church to realize how lucky you are. Your parents and/or grandparents love you enough to take you to a good, solid, Bible-teaching, Bible-believing church. I think that you will learn more here about life than anywhere else.

What kind of Christian do you want to be?  If you read about the sowing of seeds, you’ll see that just like those seeds, everyone’s life has different paths and outcomes as well.  The most important day of your life is when you get saved and ask Jesus to live in your heart.  That is the beginning of your Christian foundation, built by His Word.

APPLICATION:

Mark 4:8

And other fell on good ground and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth…

Notice that the seed that fell on good ground is the only one that grew and made fruit.  That’s why it’s so important to have a solid Christian foundation to stand on.  You are all so lucky to start your journey with God as children.

Thank you for being a part of the 100-Day Challenge. Thanks for reading, and you have a blessed day!
